Student Sponsorship Programme
Support a Child. Change a Future.
Haven of Dreams has launched a sponsorship programme to help vulnerable children and young people in Nakuru, Kenya stay in school and build a secure future.
Many families in our community struggle to cover the cost of school fees, uniforms, and learning materials. Through the sponsorship programme, individual supporters can make a direct and lasting difference in the life of a learner. This programme was developed after a successful collaboration in which a Haven of Dreams supporter sponsored a university student in Nairobi and saw the life-changing impact of individual support. Following this experience, Haven of Dreams created a structured sponsorship programme so that more sponsors could become involved in a safe, transparent, and meaningful way.
How Sponsorship Works
Sponsors support one learner through a regular monthly contribution.
The minimum contribution is:
USD 40 per month
This helps cover essential education costs such as:
- School fees
- Uniforms
- Learning materials
- School supplies
- Transport when needed
Sponsors who wish to provide additional support may choose a deeper level of involvement, which can include helping with extra needs such as computers, exam fees, or additional educational support.
All funds are managed by Haven of Dreams and used for the benefit of the sponsored learner.
Commitment
We encourage sponsors to plan for a minimum commitment of one year, as continuity is very important for a child’s education.
However, we understand that personal circumstances can change, and sponsors may stop at any time if needed.
If possible, we kindly ask sponsors who are no longer able to continue to help find a new sponsor so that the learner’s education is not interrupted.
Sponsors will receive regular updates about the learner they support, including:
- Bi-annual newsletters
- School progress updates
- Photos or messages when appropriate
For safeguarding reasons, communication with children takes place through Haven of Dreams.
Sponsors may send messages to the learner through the organization, and all contact is handled in line with our safeguarding guidelines.
Mentoring Opportunities
Sponsors who wish to be more involved may have the opportunity to mentor students aged 18 or over, if the student wishes.
All mentoring contact is coordinated through Haven of Dreams to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved.

All sponsorship communication is managed through the organization, and personal contact details are not shared without permission.
We follow safeguarding and child protection procedures to ensure a safe and respectful environment for every learner.
